The workshop allows participants to become familiar with the conservation and handling of cultural properties while providing opportunities for networking. This year’s workshop included a workshop on Kosode, a handling workshop on textiles/ceramics, Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties overview and following by an excursion to Kanazawa. Participants of this annual workshop are museum professionals from outside Japan, including curators of East Asian art as well as registrars, educators, designers, and others who are involved in Japanese art exhibitions at their respective institutions.
